BANNISTER ROPES / FITTINGS

Mooring Ropes

We make bannister ropes with all the fittings to your own specifications ready for you to fit. Bannister ropes are best used as a supplementary rail to aid stability when going up and down stairs. To ensure that the bannister rope is as secure as possible we strongly recommend the use of manrope knot at the top and bottom of the stairwell. Bannister ropes are made from soft feel polypropylene rope or natural flax and are available in the colours shown below and in 24mm and 30mm sizes. Barrier ropes, fittings and stands are also available, POA.

Useful Tips:

  • A swag is not essential as a small swag will develop with use due to the natural stretch of the rope. You may however wish to have a bigger swag in which case add 5% to the measurement.
  • If a swag is required using flax then add a 5% swag as flax is not as "stretchy" as the coloured polypropylene ropes.
